Anniversary Trip to Italy: Rome Day 2

On Day 2, we walked to our second guided tour which was a tour of the Vatican. It was amazing to see all the art and architecture and to hear the history of everything we saw.

Just a street in Rome. This is one of the wider streets. Is this a street or a sidewalk? The stone street/sidewalk goes all the way up to the side of the stone buildings.

Inside the Vatican

Our Tour Guide

Room of tapestries. Very crowded

Room of maps

Entrance to Church of Saint Peter

Tour guide teaching us all the history of the church. How about them doors?

The pictures don't really do it justice. Just like the Grand Canyon, you have to see it to really appreciate it. It is so big and ornate with beautiful architecture, paintings, and sculptures all throughout.

The dome designed by Michelangelo

The Pope makes his weekly (or maybe daily?) address from the second window from the right.

Wow.

There are lots of very small cars in Italy, especially in Rome. Here is Melissa towering over a little car.

Spanish Steps

We also toured the Sistine Chapel but were not allowed to take pictures. It was amazing!
